It had been announced as a memorable ‘electric week & weekend’ for the Principality in the name of clean energy, zero-emission sport challenge and e-future. An environmentally friendly movida conquered Monaco’s rock to turn on the green light. EVER Monaco has drawn back the real sense of bright sustainability under the umbrella of the Fontvieille Chapiteau from the 27th until the 29th April 2022. The focal point of this seventieth edition included also electric trucks and other working vehicles besides the latest news in terms of electric city cars, luxury cars and supercars. The KEV YoYo futuristic 100% electric microcar, stood out for the compact and cheeky design and easy to recharge thanks to movable batteries. A world premiere addressed to new generations from the age of sixteen.
A parade of further four and two-wheel vehicles showed off their best livery on EVER Monaco ‘green carpet’. Power at low consumption was the common ‘password’ throughout the exhibitors. To name a few it was possible to admire Kia Nero, the up-coming hybrid crossover. Mercedes GLB kicked off the 7-seater electric SUV era for the renowned German brand. Audi, FIAT, Jeep, Porsche and Suzuki were there to present the new generation of hybrid and electric cars. A strong signal that reaffirms the growing trend to choose cars and vehicles with a reduced impact on the environment, as predicted by recent statistics (BloombergNEF).
At the same time, startups pitches, lunch-debates, and several panels debated on electromobility and the most relevant pillars of the energy transition from the mouth of academics, politicians and entrepreneurs. Formula E warmed up the batteries while MONACO E-KART CHAMPIONSHIP was officially presented by Clivio Piccione, Monegasque race car driver. On the 28th April 2022, The well-established METHA Europe, novel projects ‘incubator’ by IMT (Institut Mines-Telecom), selected the best outcomes in the field of engineering and digital technology on the theme "Smart Building / Smart City / Ville durable". Traq-KING, universal traceability of goods grouping, reached the podium in the Category Students. ALTERE, solar concentrator kit to provide renewable thermal energy for industrial premises, was awarded the first position in the Category Ante-creation. LIGN-O, to decarbonize buildings for a more sustainable urban habitat, won the first place in the Start-up Category.
On the 29th April, H.E. Jean Castellini, President of SAM MonacoTech and Minister of Economy and Finance, reiterated the agreement with Alain Louis Schmitt, Director of IMT Nord Europe (Mines-Télécom Lille-Douai National High School of Engineering) to look at the future with renewed eyes, constantly pushing for new solutions. “This partnership represents an added value for both structures in their accompanying mission towards entrepreneurship and economic development”, concluded Mr. Schmitt.
