One of the annual events that most promotes urban soft mobility on two wheels is back to the Principality of Monaco. Riding a bicycle has a positive environmental impact, is mostly net-zero, while contributing to a healthier lifestyle and has economic and social benefits. Great professional cycling champions, like World Champion Tadej Pogačar and multi-title winner Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, will accompany amateurs participants in a series of inclusive sport challenges which go beyond mere competition to raise awareness of safe cycling and federate people around an international two-wheel-lovers.
The one-day event will gather in Monaco a consistent parade of leading figures, rising stars, sprint specialists and endurance riders to celebrate this long-standing sport practice which is still able to arouse big emotions. Anna van der Breggen, pro cyclist and former Former Olympic & World Champion, pointed out: « The beauty of cycling is that it offers much more than just a race; it can inspire, bring people together and do good. The Dutch sport woman, in fact, will also support the fundraising initiative for Amy Pieters, a pro rider who crashed after a severe collision while attending the national track team training ride, on December 2022 in Calpe (Spain).
Meeting with the new generations is a particularly enriching moment for the pros, as well. Kasia Niewiadoma, Polish professional cyclist underlined: « As I grow older, I see cycling from a new angle. Helping children get on a bike and sharing our passion and confidence is something we should all do ». On the same direction, Steven Kruijswijk, Dutch pro, highlighted the educational side of BEKING: « The more children grow up riding bikes, the more adults there will be using them every day to go to work, meet friends or simply clear their minds ». Victor Lagelotti, Monegasque pro cyclist, added: « It’s an opportunity to share our passion with the fans, experience a day of sport and friendship, and inspire the younger generation».

The core mission of this training, officially included in the educational offer by the will of the Department of National Education, is to share their experiences with the next generations in order to engage them and trigger passion in them. Sport, in fact, teaches perseverance, a sense of belonging to the group, respect for environmental ecosystems, civic and health responsibility. On Sunday the 23rd, the students will finally visit the Village des Enfants, a dedicated educational and recreational area designed for them within the BEKING hospitality zone.
