Have you ever wanted to experience professional gardening for one day? As a matter of fact, taking care of plants and trees can have great benefits on our quality of life at all ages. It encourages sensory development, it improves eco-responsibility, it creates social opportunities and educational inputs to learn more about the environment besides teaching us to be more patience in respecting the rhythms of nature as well as preferring fresh natural ingredients in everyday diet.

The 2nd edition of "Week-End Nature" will involve all residents, citizens and visitors on Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th October 2022, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Children and adults will amuse themselves in experiencing the theme "Mission Jardinier" (Gardener Mission), this year's main theme chosen by the Direction de l'Aménagement Urbain - DAU (Monaco Directorate of Urban Planning).
The DAU's Gardens Section with its reception stands will welcome all participants to the Roseraie Princesse Grace in Fontvieille and the Serres de cultures (Greenhouses) in Saint-Laurent d'Eze. An envelope will be delivered to each family team to enter a special mission through an investigator card. Thus, a real hunt for the clue will start to find a series of animation points scattered in the gardens. All clues will be useful to solve some puzzles and to unveil the secrets of the gardeners.

In Fontvieille, in particular, you will better understand the underground life by observing funny insects. You will learn how to install a watering circuit and all the secrets of roses. In Saint-Laurent d'Eze, you will be part in mechanised potting, walking through the experimental educational vegetable garden, taste some edible flowers and transform an old pair of sneakers you do not use anymore into a planter.
A nice concert performed by the Carabiniers du Prince's Orchestra will be the pleasant spot of the mission. Rendez-vous at the Jardins Saint-Martin on Saturday at 6 p.m. including special picnic areas to best celebrate plant lovers. ***
