The cycling industry is committed to be more resilient, digital and sustainable, keeping high engagment in Europe and wordwide to raise awareness on soft mobilty and its role to act as a prior climate mitigation action, in view of the EU Declaration of Cycling expected by the end of 2025.
A unique bike celebration is about to come back to Monaco this weekend. Beking 2024, at its fourth edition, will inovolve once again Port Hercules and vicinity on Sunday the 24th November from 9:00 a. m to 7:00 p.m. The greatest champions of professional cycling will gather in Monaco to animate challenging races, leisure activities and workshops where to debate on education and sustainable mobility while promoting solidarity. Rainsing funds to organise activities and events to tackle environmental and social issues, involving families, children, schools and training institutions, through the direct involvement of sport champions.
The one-day event is meant to involve families and visitors of all ages who will be able to meet and race with real cycling stars, led by Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates), award-winning Slovenian cyclist, the real protagonist of the last edition of the Tour de France ended in the Principality of Monaco, and Matteo Trentin (Tudor Pro Cycling Team), skilled professional road racing cyclist from Italy, initiator of BeKing.
The Pro-Am bike race will start at 9.30 a.m. open to amateurs, legends and professionals followed by a special biking challenge for juniors together with cycling champions at 11.30 a.m. The best professoonal riders will then run the Criterium race on the most iconic Monaco's F1 circuit, cheered by visitors.
Jonathan Milan, new world record Italian cyclist, Mads Pedersen, 2018 World Champion, Tim Wellens, professional road racing cyclist from Belgium, Elia Viviani, Italian Olympic gold medallist, Jakob Fuglsang, Swiss Olympic silver medallist, Matej Mohoric, Slovenian world champion and many others are some of the starry sportspeople who will parade in Monaco.
Claudia Morandini, co-founder of the event, highlighted: « We are glad that this event has entered the hearts of the many bike riders who have embraced the cause, showing their support every year. BeKing would have remained just a nice idea without them and without the support of companies that make it possible. Even though it is a small event, every year we address the audience an important message for modern society, planet earth and future generations. We do hope it can grow year after year until it becomes an unmissable moment for children, families and sports lovers ».
