The Osaka SDGs Forum will reinforce the global collective action towards Sustainability.

Japan is currently in the spotlight for its commitment to promoting ecological transition. Located on the artificial island of Yumeshima, in Osaka Bay, the Expo 2025 gathers 161 countries and nine international organisations to debate on a crucial theme "Designing Future Society for Our Live", in order to envisage a sustainable future society, under the motto: “Saving lives”, “Empowering lives” and “Connecting lives”. The Principality of Monaco is actively attending this six-month major fair to "Take Care of Wonder", grounded on the lasting Princely commitment in Sustainable Development and International Cooperation.

By the strong will of the Governor of the Osaka Prefecture and the Head of Schneider Electric Japan, a unique event, the Osaka Japan SDGs Forum, will be held on the 5th September 2025 at the Expo Hall (Shining Hat), with the aim to gather a panel of key experts and stakeholders to debate about the future of Sustainability in the footsteps of the Osaka SDGs Vision, established in 2020. An innovative participative approach to Sustainability which involve various social and economic strata, it is the basis of the coined principle: "Connecting Everyone’s Wisdom to Change the World". The main idea is to create a sustainability-based society, emphasising the interconnectedness of three dimensions: social, economic and environmental.

Thus, representatives from the United Nations, the private sector and local governments are going to join their forces together with new generations in this meaningful rendezvous.

The Osaka Japan SDGs Forum sets itself the goal to promote pioneering actions in order to make local and international participants act towards lasting sustainable behaviours capable of going well beyond 2030: "SDGs + beyond".

After the opening words of the event by Hirofumi Yoshimura, Osaka Governor, the stage will be animated by Professor Norichika Kanie, one of the fifteen independent scientists to design the Global Sustainable Report - GSRD 2023 - as commissioned by the United Nations Secretary-General, and by Ryoko Aoyagi, Country President of Schneider Electric Japan, global company focused in energy management and automation with avant-garde SDGs values. A panel of distinguished speakers will then debate on the “Genkotsu Project” an inclusive public-private project whose mission is to advance environmentally friendly habits prone to decarbonisation, addressed to policy makers, industrial entrepreneurs, citizens and communities.

The new generations will be widely represented with various delegations from Kansai University Hokuyo Senior High School and Yamawaki Gakuen Senior High School, and the winning teams of the "6th Kansai SDGs Youth Action 2024," praising the best SDGs fresh ideas by young people.
