One of the most anticipated events of the year in the world of yachting is approaching the shores of Monaco. The Monaco Yacht Show - MYS 2024, under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, will be held at Port Hercules from the 25th to the 28th September 2024. The 33rd edition will bring to the surface the best in terms of luxury, innovation and elegance animated by some of the most relevant builders and brokers worldwide. The yacting industry is in full swing reaching 33 billion euros (note: updated to 2022) and the MYS is able to gather over 560 leading exhibitors with focus on environmentally friendly high-tech and solutions, in the foosteps of the Principality's commitment in ecologic transition and pioneerring development.
The Sustainability Hub within the Monaco Yacht Show will open up to the latest eco-innovations surfing the superyacht industry market as a prior incubator dancing on the waves of sustainable renovation. A priority mission for the Monegasque Show, firmly anchored on the twin objectives to make technology evolve responsibly and to help preserve marine ecosystems.
Not by chance, The Sustainability Hub pavilion will showcase a parade of eco-engaged exhibitors selected in partnership by the Water Revolution Foundation aimed to foster Sustainable and Energy Efficiency policies in Super Yachting, ofted marked by product and process certifications (e.g.: ISO norms). Ampros, Attested Rigs, Deasyl, French Eaux, Natpower, Nature Safe Marine, Propulsion House, Termodinamica, Siemens Energy (main sponsor) and Wet Environmental Ltd are some of the brands on display. Visitors will therefore have the chance to meet crucial stakeholders, networking and exchanging ideas to ride that eco-wave front.
Since its establishment in 2022, this dedicated showroom is addressed to make consistent environmental innovation sprout out. Besides that, the whole MYS event management is grounded on fully environmental strategies and values, spread through specific practices in order to reduce its carbon footprint and pollutant impacts via three main pillars: Mobility, Waste Management and Energy Consumption. A Green approach that has been carried on since 2005. At the same time, key issues on pivotal themes will be discussed through a set of professional conferences. Below is the list of main panels:
>> Wednesday, September the 25th - 3:40 p.m. – "The next step for propulsion: The transition of the superyacht fleet" = the meeting is about the evolution of propulsion systems in the superyacht industry, focusing on the shift towards more sustainable and efficient technologies.
>> Thursday, September the 26th - 3:40 p.m. – "How can we use materials on board to reduce our carbon footprint?" = the rendezvous will underline the importance of choosing suitable onboard materials to reduce significantly yachts' carbon footprints.
>> Friday, September the 27th - 4:20 p.m. - "How can we make the composite lifecycle more sustainable?" = the forum will highlight lifecycle strategies for enhancing sustainability in both yacht construction and maintenance stages.
The Monaco Yacht Show intends to reaffirm its role as prior sustainable player carrying a meaningful eco-message. The MYS shows that combining the world of Luxury with Sustainability is feasable and essential to enter the new economy of the future, increasingly led by nature-based solutions. This can only be done through a holistic approach based on the close collaboration among all stakeholders involved.
