MONACŒCOART®: First of all congratulations to both of you for the well-deserved sporting and media success, you have an incredible synchronization and harmony not easy to achieve on the ice. How was your Olympic experience in a few words?
G.C.: The performance at the Olympic Games went very well despite being subjected to much stress. We were really focused on what we had to do from start to finish but we were in tunes with the times and balanced mix of meditation and physical coordination worked well. At the end of the race, we were satisfied with the outcome and the score awarded, that was important for us, although quite anxious until the final results. We had the chance to achieve maximum results at a very young age, what has allowed to have a certain longevity in the practice of our sport. We are very proud of this. The more we move forward in our career the more goals and motivations change.
G.P.: We were really pleased to write this book together with Clémentine Blondet, the official journalist who had been following us throughout our Olympics participations. The idea is then to talk about our feelings, training path, and much more with accompanying photo book, from the very moment we were willing to achieve the gold medal until the moment when we really received this high recognition. We are very happy to share it with all supporters.
MONACŒCOART®: Are you sensitive to the environmental cause and engaged in some way?
G.P.: It is really a very broad topic to deal with in a few words. Of course, I am not specialized in sustainability, but I think it is essential to convey messages to raise awareness. I would like to learn more about these issues.
G.C.: I think many are sensitive to this topic and I am among them. Luckily, there are specialists who are working on possible solutions to make all kinds of sport more sustainable, first in terms of energy efficiency. Everyone must feel responsible including the governmental authorities and states. ***
